Abstract

This paper explores the resurgence of ancient Indian tribal art forms in contemporary urban
spaces. As globalized modernity increasingly challenges indigenous traditions, many tribal art
forms face extinction or marginalization. However, a growing movement within India has led to
a revitalization of these forms, adapting them to the contexts of urban life. This research
investigates how traditional folk art, particularly from tribal communities, has been reinterpreted
by urban artists and integrated into city landscapes. The paper delves into the intersections of
cultural preservation, modernization, and urban art practices, offering insights into the evolving
role of indigenous arts in contemporary society.
